The league committee are seeking your clubs help with a Christmas appeal in association with Ken Smollen Christmas food appeal.
We are looking to start a new Christmas appeal with the help of all our clubs within our league.
We are looking for your club to support this appeal and ask the parents of your players to donate any non -perishable food for local families in Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.
As were close to Christmas’ we would ask parents to see if they could all so donate a selection boxes or any other treats for children at this time of year.
All food donated will go towards the Ken Smullen Christmas food appeal. As we all know this time of year many families struggle to keep going and a lot of parents will go without food in order to get their kids something for Christmas.
The Ken Smullen Christmas appeal hopes to supply the families with the usual minimum 18 items of non-perishable food – 2 boxes of breakfast cereal, tea, sugar, 3 tins of beans, 2 tins of spaghetti hoops, 2 tins of dessert rice, 3 packets of soup, 2 packets of pasta, jar of pasta sauce, packet of boil-in-the-bag-rice, 3 packets of biscuits and a packet of cream crackers and other items when available including tinned fish/peas/carrots, etc...
1. We’re asking all clubs to let me know if your club will take part and if possible, could you appoint one person as a point of contact for the appeal.
2. Could clubs advertise our appeal within your club social media. (please see attached our photo)
3. Could your club take in donations of non perishable food from the 8th to the 14th of December.
4. An MSL committee member will collect any donations on the Saturday or the Sunday at your club house or at any pickup point within your area.
